A/Prof Luke Tan is an experienced sinus surgeon in Singapore, who specialises in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroid surgery, and head and neck cancer surgery.

Having practised for over 20 years, specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) with a special interest in treating sinus conditions, A/Prof Luke Tan is dedicated to helping distressed patients regain optimal breathing function and comfort. He personalises every treatment to the needs of the individual; and firmly believes in the importance of fostering a trusted doctor-patient relationship.
A/Prof Luke Tan holds numerous accreditations and leadership positions in the field of otolaryngology (ENT). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed a Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery in the United States.
A/Prof Tan served as the former Head of ENT at the National University Hospital in Singapore and President of the Singapore Otorhinolaryngology Society. Additionally, he played a crucial role in establishing the first ENT team at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, contributing to the development of ENT services in Singapore.
A/Prof Tan earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore. He furthered his education by earning a Master of Medical Science from the University of Dundee in Scotland.
His training includes completing basic surgery at Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital, followed by a Specialist ENT Residency in the United Kingdom. Notably, he also conducted cancer research during his time in the UK.
As an educator, A/Prof Tan serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of ENT Head & Neck at the National University Hospital. He is actively involved in academic research and has contributed as a journal reviewer for various major ENT Head & Neck journals.
His commitment to teaching extends to mentoring medical students and young professionals, ensuring that knowledge is passed on to future generations.
A/Prof Tan has contributed significantly to community service through his overseas mission work in Vietnam. In collaboration with the Singapore International Foundation, he assembled an ENT team for a project that lasted 12 years, leading numerous teams from Singapore to Hanoi for training and collaborative work with their Vietnamese counterparts.
He also initiated Singapore’s National “Rotating” Residency Programme, which improved training standards across public hospitals by giving trainees a broader perspective on their speciality.
